Mission Statement

City Clerk's Office employees are the keepers of official city records, such as City Charter, budgets, ordinances, contracts and the like. They act as the Open Meeting Act administration and provide general information about city government to the public. Additional duties performed of documents obtained by the City Clerk's office include: Deeds for Highland Cemetery burial spaces, information on items advertised for bid (bids are turned in there), minutes and agendas for the Lawton City Council and various other boards, authorities, and trusts, tort/damage claim filing, and scheduling appointments with the Mayor and Councilmembers.

The City Clerk's Office is comprised of City Clerk Donalynn Blazek-Scherler, Senior Deputy City Clerk Tammy Branstetter, Deputy Clerk Kobe Humble, Administrative Assistant Ashton Wall, and City Council Liaison Julia Mantzke.

A draft of the proposed Project Plan, which outlines potential positive and negative impacts that may result from its adoption, is available for review by any interested person at the Office of the City Clerk, Lawton City Hall, 212 S.W. 9th Street, Lawton, Oklahoma, during regular business hours (Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.) and at the following web address after 5:00 p.m.

The first public hearing will be held in the Council Chambers/Auditorium at Lawton City Hall, 212 S.W. 9th Street, Lawton, Oklahoma, at 3:30 p.m. on Monday, December 2, 2024, and will be for the purpose of providing information, including an analysis of potential positive or negative impacts, and answering questions regarding the proposed Project Plan and Increment Districts.

The second public hearing will be held in the Council Chambers/Auditorium at Lawton City Hall, 212 S.W. 9th Street, Lawton, Oklahoma, at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, and will be for the purpose of giving members of the public an opportunity to be heard prior to any vote on the proposed Project Plan and Increment Districts.
